Orchard Park, New York — Mother Nature may not be finished complicated the Buffalo Bills’ postseason schedule, forcing coach Sean McDermott to consider his choices on Tuesday.
McDermott said the team will continue to practice on Wednesday and Thursday while monitoring a prediction that predicts a lake-effect storm dumping roughly 2 feet of snow on the Buffalo area.
The Bills are coming off a 31-17 playoff win over Pittsburgh on Monday and will visit the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC divisional round game on Sunday night.
“We’ve got a plan in place to make sure we’re getting the players in at the right time, as well as the staff, and trying to be on top of that from a scheduling standpoint,” McDermott said in a statement. “So, we’ll handle it. I am certain about it. And the greatest thing we can do for the time being is maintain open lines of communication.”
A travel advisory is presently in effect in Erie County, and county executive Mark Poloncarz is pushing firms to enable employees to work from home for the rest of the week. It’s too early to tell whether officials will impose a travel ban, which may prevent Bills players from driving to practice.
It would be the second time in less than a week that the region has been hammered, following a lake-effect storm that deposited 1 to 3 feet of snow over the weekend, with much of it falling on the Bills’ home in Orchard Park, New York.
