Robbie Gould, a former kicker for the Chicago Bears, is the new head football coach at Rolling Meadows High School, according to multiple sources.
Sam Baker, who held the position for four seasons, is replaced by Gould. Gould had a Friday morning meeting with the players at Rolling Meadows.
Gould, 41, was a member of the Bears from 2005 to 2015; he was up in Pennsylvania. With 1,207 points, he leads the Bears in scoring all-time. He spent 15 seasons with the organisation.
Gould played 18 seasons in the NFL until retiring on December 7, 2023. In league history, he ranks as the tenth-best leading scorer ever.
Playing in the Mid-Suburban League is Rolling Meadows. Jimmy Garoppolo, a veteran NFL quarterback, graduated from the institution in 2010.
Typically a ClaGould is not the only ex-Bear playing high school football in the area. At the private high school in Mundelein called Carmel, Jason McKie serves as the head coach.
Former Bears Rashied Davis and Olin Kreutz are assistant coaches at Carmel. Another assistant is reporter Adam Hoge, who covers the Bears. 7A squad, the Mustangs have never taken home a state championship.
The school last made it to the state playoffs with a 5-5 record in 2021–2022. Last season, Rolling Meadows finished 2–7.
