Though it’s not often considered, college athletes typically have a rather close bond with one another. They may attend the same schools or live in the same town, but really it’s because AAU ball gives them all a lot of exposure. Consider Paolo Banchero as an illustration. He met players from all across the nation at Peach Jam and other events, and he knows every man in Seattle who was around his age.
It’s just the way summer balls have operated for quite some time.
Thus, it should come as no surprise to see Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel, two future Blue Devils, competing at the Top 100 camp.
They are both excellent offensive players, as this video shows, but Flagg is now superior on defense.
Although Knueppel is undoubtedly a gifted attacking player, he will likely need to play some defense in order to get playing time early in the game. He’ll get them later if not. The man intends to participate.
Additionally, as a 7-2 big man, he will have some backup for at least his first year at Duke. Khaman Maluach, Flagg, Sean Stewart, and Patrick Ngongba are all going to clean up a lot.
