Next up for the Knights is an early road test on September 14 when they play their first Big 12 Conference game at TCU.
In tandem with the Big 12 Conference schedule release on Tuesday morning, UCF revealed its football schedule for 2024, which includes seven home games and seven games against new opponents. Nine league games—five at home and four away—as well as two non-conference home games and one non-conference road game are all part of the schedule.
UCF opens the season with two non-conference home games against New Hampshire on Thursday, August 29, and Sam Houston on Saturday, September 7. New Hampshire travels to Orlando for the season opener.
Next up for the Knights is an early road test on September 14 when they play their first Big 12 Conference game at TCU. The Horned Frogs will play in the National Championship Game in the 2023 College Football Playoffs.
The Knights host Colorado in their Big 12 home opener on September 28 following the first of two bye weeks this season (Sept. 21). On Saturday, October 5, the team will travel two hours north to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville to play the Florida Gators.
On October 12, Military Appreciation Day, Cincinnati will host the Knights and Bearcats for their tenth straight season matchup at FBC Mortgage Stadium.
In preparation for their first-ever trip to Ames, Iowa, to take on Iowa State, the Knights hit the road once more on October 19. They would then return home to play BYU on October 26. November kicks off with two straight games against Grand Canyon State, a recent addition to the Big 12, as UCF hosts Arizona on November 2 and visits Arizona State in Tempe on November 9.
UCF will have its second bye week on Nov. 16 after the Knights’ biggest road trip of the year, at which point they will prepare for the remaining games of the regular season. On November 23, the Black and Gold go to West Virginia. On Black Friday, November 29, they play Utah to end the regular season.
On the football field, UCF will play its first games against New Hampshire, Sam Houston, TCU, Colorado, Iowa State, Arizona, and Utah. FBC Mortgage Stadium will host five of the Knights’ seven home games against teams that have never played there before, and two of UCF’s four out-of-state road trips will end with a bye week, with the other two having a home game following.
This summer, the first three weeks of the season’s kickoff timings will be revealed. Throughout the fall, the Big 12 will regularly release the remaining game times, with a turnaround of either 12 or 6 days per week.
