Swinney: NIL Has Added Ease to His Life
CLEMSON: NIL has made recruiting at Clemson easier and is a necessary element in the new era of collegiate football.
Head coach Dabo Swinney has made no secret of his views toward NIL, and he has found that it has made his job easier when it comes to recruiting. High school athletes rely on NIL as their primary decision-maker, which has helped the Tigers staff identify the best players for the program swiftly.
To be honest, it has made my life simpler. We now have a more streamlined approach and save time on hiring thanks to it. Who truly fits with who we are and who’s searching for something new is quite obvious and direct,” Swinney remarked.
NIL has a significant recruiting influence, but Swinney made it plain that Clemson won’t utilize it that way. That’s not to say that NIL doesn’t matter, but it doesn’t play a major role in how this staff hires.
“Recruiting is not our NIL; retention is. That’s our method and the way we’ve employed it. Some children are choosing based only on that, and that’s okay. Each to his own, said Swinney.
In order to make his position clear, Swinney stated that while NIL plays a role in some recruiting decisions at Clemson, it is not the primary factor. Swinney said, “That’s the kids that come to Clemson.”
