The future Hall of Famer complimented the edge rusher for the Steelers.
This offseason, Aaron Donald, a Pitt star and future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, announced his retirement.
As the most accomplished defensive player in football over the past ten years, Donald has amassed one of the most remarkable portfolios in NFL history.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was asked who he thought was the top defensive player in the league when he joined Chris Long on the Green Light Podcast.
“I believe it’s T.J. Watt,” declared Donald. “You speak of a guy who has been performing year after year without fail and who will consistently get you 15 sacks, 13 sacks, or 22 sacks—consistently.” It’s he who has been delivering interceptions and touchdowns on a regular basis. Every year, his figures are just insane.
To me, he is that guy. I am aware that you have a number of talented players, like Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons, who will soon be playing. However, since the first time I saw T.J. Watt in this league till last year, in my opinion, he has continuously been dominating this league. I have the utmost respect for him.
Watt has completed his third season as the NFL’s leading sackstakes leader with 19. The standout player for the Steelers is only three sacks away from achieving 100 for his career.
