Devin Carter, Big East Player of the Year, enters the NBA draft
Devin Carter, a guard for Providence and the Big East Player of the Year, announced on Wednesday that he would be entering the NBA draft. ESPN reported that Carter is skipping his senior year. Carter is ranked No. 17 out of 100 NBA draft prospects by ESPN.
Throughout 33 starts this season, Carter averaged 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals for the Friars, who finished 21-14 (10-10 in the Big East). Boston College defeated Providence in the NIT opening round.
In 96 career games (73 starts) at Providence and South Carolina (2021–22), Carter averaged 14.1 points. Carter is the son of Anthony Carter, an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies and a 13-year NBA player.
