Observations from the Oregon spring practice: several deep throws, no safety…………………………
During Oregon’s seventh spring session, deep throws by Dillon Gabriel and Luke Moga were both successful.
At the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex on Thursday morning, throws were made to Kyler Kasper and Evan Stewart, respectively, down the left sideline.
Their receptions occurred during the first session of the spring, the second period “fastball starts” 11-on-11 exercise, which gave players a taste of real football early in the day. On a depth chart, however, the personnel groups were not at all representative of hierarchy.
Dontae Manning vigorously fought Kasper’s catch. With Xavier Barksdale walking on, Stewart withdrew in a foot face.
An interception by Austin Novosad would have resulted in a pick-six.
Among the offensive organizations were:
Jayden Limar, Austin Novosad, Jurion Dickey, Ajani Cornelius, Marcus Harper II, Jayden Rossi, Terrance Ferguson, Traeshon Holden, Gary Bryant Jr., and George Silva
Dillon Gabriel, an unnamed football player, Kenyon Sadiq, Josh Conerly Jr., Charlie Pickard, Gernorris Wilson, Matthew Bedford, Tez Johnson, Justius Lowe, Kyler Kasper, and Kawika Rogers.
Roger Saleapaga, Jeremiah McClellan, Dillon Gresham, and Dante Moore
Evan Stewart, Ryan Pellum, and Luke Moga

Additional insights:
Urban Meyer, the former coach of Ohio State, is giving a speech at the spring coaches clinic in Oregon, and he was present during practice on Thursday.
Tez Johnson, Ryan Pellum, Dillon Gresham, and Gary Bryant Jr. were the punt returners.
Jordan James, Noah Whittington, Jay Harris, Preston Alford, Jeremiah McClellan, Evan Stewart, and Nikko Reed were the kickoff returners. They performed repetitions in pairs; the alternating tandems were James and Reed, Harris and Whittington, Alford and McClellan, Stewart and Reed, and James and Whittington.
Cornerbacks Rodrick Pleasant (track) and Jahlil Florence (right knee) are still out, as is linebacker Bryce Boettcher (baseball).
Outside linebacker Jaxson Jones (right knee), walk-on running back Ellis Bynum (left knee), tight end A.J. Pugliano (left knee), and center Iapani Laloulu (knee) are still sidelined.
