Updated mock draft: The Steelers made a big trade for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk………………………
Although we haven’t dealt with this one, it appears that the Pittsburgh Steelers are making a lot of effort to try to work out a trade with the San Francisco 49ers in order to get elite wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
We made the decision to do the math, acquire Aiyuk, and watch how it affected the Steelers’ 2024 NFL draft pick.
The breakdown of the trade is as follows:
Steelers are awarded:
Brandon Aiyuk, wide receiver
Niners receive:
OT Daniel Moore Jr.
2024 second-round pick of the Steelers
2025 second-round selection of the Steelers
The Steelers don’t need to select a receiver in the draft now that Aiyuk is in the fold, but giving up Moore places offensive tackle at the top of the team’s selection needs.
First round – OL Graham Barton, Duke
Barton, who was an offensive lineman and center for Duke, is a huge upgrade at center and ought to start for the team right away.
Third round – OT Blake Fisher, Notre Dame
We adore Fisher’s rough style of play and his aggressiveness. Broderick Jones can move to the left and Pittsburgh should be able to work him in on the right side.
Third round – S Calen Bullock, USC
Calen Bullock is a sharp and rangy safety that would be a great fit for Minkah Fitzpatrick. This is a great value.
Fourth round – CB Cam Hart, Notre Dame
The Steelers are returning to Notre Dame in search of Cam Hart, a long, athletic boundary cornerback who excels when facing his best opponents.
Sixth round – EDGE Braiden McGregor, Michigan
McGregor won’t make a significant impact if analytics are your thing, but his effort and work ethic make him an appealing sixth-round pick. Markus Golden needs to be replaced by someone, and McGregor seems like a good fit.
Sixth round – DT Zion Logue, Georgia
Huge, strong, two-down inside defensive tackle that eats up double teams and wins in a one-gap scheme.
