Notwithstanding all the difficulties he and the Lakers have had this NBA season, LeBron James doesn’t appear to be able to get a break. It seems like misfortune is trailing him.
Anthony Davis shows up as “the bearer of bad news” right as the Los Angeles club starts to see glimmers of advancing to the NBA playoffs or at least having a chance to get into the play-in tournament.
“The Brow” left the New Orleans Pelicans game early due to back discomfort. He made this clear when he went up to LeBron James’ table and struck up a conversation.
What is the status of Anthony Davis?
With just over five minutes remained in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Davis exited the team’s final regular season. He asked for a substitute and then made his way gingerly and slowly to the scorer’s table.
“The initial belief is Anthony Davis experienced hip and back spasms after being pushed in the air by Larry Nance Jr. and landing awkwardly, a source familiar with the situation told ESPN,” said McMenamin.
Depending on the nature of his injury, Davis’s availability for the Play-In Tournament will be determined. In November, Davis also struggled with hip problems.
