Top contenders for an in-state 4-star recruit include the Tennessee Vols…………………………………
Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden, a four-star prospect in 2025, is being pursued by a number of colleges.
Gooden, a 6-foot-4, 320-pound native of Nashville, is ranked No. 3 in Tennessee and No. 10 among interior offensive linemen nationally by 247Sports.
Oklahoma, Colorado, Clemson, Missouri, and Missouri are also contenders for Gooden.
It’s the team from back home. Regarding his interest in the Volunteers, Gooden told 247Sports, “They have a number of athletes who attended my school. “They are wonderful in every way. It’s wonderful that they are so near to where you are.”
(Gooden attended Lipscomb, the same school as Vols defensive back Kaleb Beasley, linebacker Edwin Spillman, and wide receiver Nate Spillman.)
After his impressive performance in the Under Armour Nashville camp last weekend, Gooden was dubbed the “247Sports Alpha Dog”.
Gooden was “dominant while competing” and didn’t drop a rep during the Nashville camp, according to 247Sports.
By the end of June, Gooden intends to make his pledge public, according to 247Sports. Before deciding, he will travel to Clemson and Colorado.
