Star recruits from high schools are important to the Bengals Zac Taylor in the NFL Draft’s first round……………….
Your chances of being selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first or second round of the NFL Draft are higher if you were a high school recruit.
The larger programs typically land the highest-rated prospects, and the Bengals devote the majority of their attention on those teams each season.
Whether by accident or not, the Bengals have used their first two draft selections to pursue real stars each time since Taylor took over as head coach.

Can the Bengals draft any five-star recruits?
The Bengals will be focusing on a number of players who played positions the former 5-star high school standouts are predicted to pursue early in the first 50 picks.
To begin with, the names of former Georgia right tackle Amarius Mims and former Alabama right tackle JC Latham should be bolded in red ink. The Bengals are expected to spend their first-round selection on right tackle, at least in part because Mims is expected to be available there. While Latham is expected to go in the first half of the draft, it is not out of the question for him to drop to the 18th pick.
Dallas Turner, a former edge defender for Alabama, is not expected to be in Cincinnati’s lineup because he is also a predicted top-16 pick.
The greatest option for the Bengals would be to select BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia as an offensive tackle in the second round. Although his athleticism and pedigree make him an attractive option for Cincinnati at that point in the draft, it is not predicted that he will last 49 picks.
Former Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, former Alabama edge defender Chris Braswell, and former LSU defensive tackle Maason Smith are more second-round choices.
Only two of these former 5-star players are confirmed to be brought in by the Bengals for top-30 visits. Earlier this month, Smith and Mims both paid us visits.
You can anticipate Mims and/or Smith being added to the list if this pattern keeps up.
