What Javon Baker Wants To Show While Starting For The Patriots
Despite dropping out of the 2024 NFL draft in the fourth round, 22-year-old wide receiver Javon Baker has a “chip” on his shoulder and is eager to start playing for the Patriots.
In a video conference on Saturday, Baker stated, “To be honest, just being a part of that organization, I know it is a winning mentality, just like how it was at Alabama.” “Just winning, as if that’s what everyone enjoys.
I simply cannot wait because there won’t be a finer chance or location to visit than this one.
The UCF product concluded the season rated second in the US in yards per catch (21.9), leading the league. He also led the Big 12 league in receiving yards (1,139), which placed 16th in the NCAA. He scored seven touchdowns and caught 52 passes.
Baker stated he still has a lot to show at the next level, despite all of his accomplishments at the collegiate level.
In addition to expressing his excitement about joining the Patriots and saying he can’t wait to “put on that uniform,” Baker also discussed his skill set and the contributions he can make to New England.
“My way of thinking. As a receiver, I am. All I do is catch the ball,” Baker remarked. “Even if the ball is tossed out of bounds at the sideline, I will still catch it.
In the end, that’s what matters most of all. I simply have a different mindset than any other receiver.I’m willing to work hard and take on any task. Thus, as a receiver, my mindset by itself is capable of anything.
