Following West Virginia’s Tenure, Kentucky Receives Kerr Kriisa Commitment via Transfer Portal……………………..
Kentucky has secured the highly sought-after transfer, ending Kerr Kriisa’s quest for a new residence.
After playing for West Virginia last season, Kriisa told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony he had committed to play for the Wildcats.
On April 2, Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 revealed that Kriisa was logging onto the transfer website.
2020 saw Kriisa start his undergraduate career at Arizona. He played for the Wildcats for three seasons, starting sixty-six of the sixty-eight games he started in the last two.
After moving to West Virginia in April 2023, the 23-year-old returned through the portal three months later, following the retirement of head coach Bob Huggins due to a DUI charge.
For the 2023–24 campaign, Kriis reiterated his dedication to the Mountaineers and acting head coach Josh Eilert.
Prior to the season, Kriisa was suspended for nine games after it was revealed that he had received improper perks. After coming back into the lineup on December 16, the Estonian native participated in every game for West Virginia.
Kriisa averaged a career-high 11.0 points on 42.4 percent three-point shooting and 4.7 assists per game in 23 starts during the previous campaign.
Since taking over as head coach of the Wildcats on April 12, Mark Pope has added seven players through the transfer window. John Calipari, who departed the program after 15 seasons to become the head coach at Arkansas, is being replaced by him.
After Kansas and Indiana, the Wildcats boast the third-best transfer class in the country.
