Three Golden Knights available for exchange
Let’s look at the players who could be dealt after talking about three prospective Golden Knight free agents who won’t be coming back.
The Vegas Golden Knights’ current lot in life is not favourable. With a strong roster and plenty of potential, this year was meant to be their year. It wasn’t to be, though, because this season will see the election of a new Stanley Cup champion. By now, fans have heard and danced to this song several times. But that is the cruel hand that Las Vegas has been given.
That raises a lot of questions regarding the roster. Who is departing and who is staying? With so little cap space available to them this offseason, what will the Golden Knights do? There are a few crucial inquiries for a team that is fully committed to their window of contention. Vegas needs to put on its poker face since the future of the team will be decided in this summer.
A lot of people will be watching the Vegas Golden Knights roster to see which unrestricted free agents decide to stay or go. Naturally, one free agent in particular that supporters want to see back is Jonathan Marchessault. Though it’s unclear if the Golden Knights will keep him on staff, there’s more to think about.
In order to clear cap space, the Golden Knights must decide which players will be dealt. Vegas is trying to retool and get younger, and the trade deadline brought two new long-term players to the Golden Knights. Naturally, there are other considerations in relation to a possible deal.
Underperforming players are one of the other factors. Is it possible for Vegas to locate a possible trading partner for players who don’t live up to their standards? Even with the salary cap rising, the Golden Knights will struggle to find any cap room this offseason. Consequently, if the price is right, Vegas will try to unload any players they may find unimpressive. The following three players are potential trade targets in the offseason.
