Earlier this month, Edwards, 21, assisted UConn in making it to the NCAA women’s Final Four (opens in a new tab). At the end of her senior year, the 6-foot-3 forward recorded career highs of 17.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
“It’s amazing, it’s a dream come true and to actually walk your dream, it means a lot,” she stated.
In March, she submitted her WNBA draft declaration. She claimed she was prepared to go on to the next phase of her career, but she still had one more year of college left.
Edwards posted on social media, saying, “Let’s have one last dance”(opens in a new tab). “I’m going to formally declare for the 2024 Draft along with one last dance. More importantly, though, is that I’m ready for the next chapter. Mamba from Canada out.”
