untamed location Vladislav Firstov about waivers without conditions
Following initial reporting on Twitter by Michael Russo, the Minnesota Wild made a statement. Vladislav Firstov, a forward, was placed on waivers without conditions.
The Iowa Wild forward’s contract was terminated today with the placing of him on unconditional waivers.
The Wild selected 22-year-old Firstov in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft. In 2022, he signed an entry-level deal and participated in nine AHL games across two seasons’ worth of action. Firstov was then loaned by the Wild to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL.
Firstov played 114 games for Torpedo in two seasons, scoring 61 points and 28 goals. Firstov and the Wild decided to have him return to the AHL and give it another shot when their season finished. Throughout the season, the 6-foot-1 forward appeared in ten games with the Iowa Wild, tallying two goals and two assists. His contract was supposed to expire following the 2024–2025 season, however it has since been cancelled.
