Greetings from the WNBA: In her debut, Caitlin Clark sets an infamous record.
On Tuesday night, Caitlin Clark made her much-awaited WNBA debut, giving the league’s inaugural night a championship game atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the evening’s outcomes were a very mixed bag for Clark and her Indiana Fever teammates.
The good news is that Clark finished with a team-high 20 points, making 4 of 11 three-pointers.

The bad news is that Clark committed 10 turnovers in his WNBA debut, setting an infamous record for most turnovers in a debut game as the Fever fell short of the Connecticut Sun, 92–71.
Thanks to her record-breaking career at the University of Iowa, Clark has emerged as one of the biggest names in basketball during the last two years. Even though she was so outstanding and successful in college, certain growing pains and early difficulties in her WNBA career had to be expected.
There is a big difference between playing in a college and any professional league, so Clark will need to get used to playing every night against top competition.
