Dion Dawkins, a Pro Bowl tackle with the Bills, talks more about the “fake” Jets.
LT Dion Dawkins of the Buffalo Bills and the AFC East foe New York Jets are still very much in love. Dawkins brought up the subject again on ‘Good Morning Football.’
Dion Dawkins gets personal when it comes to the New York Jets.
Over the course of the previous two seasons, the Buffalo Bills’ starting left tackle has developed a strong dislike for the AFC East rivals. This past season, the animosity reached a peak when Jets defensive lineman Micheal Clemons attempted to start a postgame brawl in an incident that was caught on camera in the tunnel at Highmark Stadium.
“There’s a couple guys that they’re just cool, but, hey man, we ain’t friends, dawg,” Dawkins replied. “It’s the world versus Bills.
After attending Rahway High School, which is situated approximately 25 miles away from MetLife Stadium, Dawkins, a native of New Jersey, was clearly irritated by Clemons’s antics during Buffalo’s 32-6 victory over the Jets at home in Week 11 of the previous season.
“Why are you talking to us?” stated Dawkins, who has appeared in 112 games for Buffalo since being selected with the 63rd overall pick in the 2017 draft. “You’re in the tunnel, chasing guys. That’s not real, at all, dude. We are not mob bosses. Hey, we’re football players. Let’s put an end to all of the antics. We play football. Be a football player if that’s what you want to do. Give in your shoulder pads, helmet, and jersey if you want to be that [the alternative]. That is all there is to it.”
