To the family and community of the Maryland Terrapins,
I am so filled with pride and thankfulness as I sit down to write this letter. One of the most life-changing experiences I have had has been with the Maryland Terrapins, and I want to take a time to consider what this community means to me.
I want to thank my teammates and coaches first and foremost. Your constant encouragement, commitment, and faith in me have been crucial to my development on and off the field. Thanks to Coach Locksley, your leadership and direction have improved me not just as a quarterback but also as a person. My teammates and I have an unshakable bond. Every workout, match, and triumph has served as evidence of our group’s perseverance and hard work.
We have been driven every step of the way by the passion and energy of the Maryland community and the fans. Your support has been invaluable, whether it be in the form of a full stadium on game day or a simple word of encouragement on campus. I will always be appreciative of you for accepting me as one of your own.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the personnel and faculty at the university. It’s not easy to juggle academics and athletics, and your encouragement and understanding have been essential to my success. I am honored to be a part of an institution where student-athletes may flourish, thanks to the environment you have built.
To conclude, I express my gratitude to my family for your enduring love and dedication. Without your trust, I would not be here today. Your faith in me has been my compass.
I am eager to see what the future brings, but I will never forget the experiences and lessons I learned while attending Maryland. I am grateful to have been a part of this community, which has shaped me in ways I never could have predicted.
I’m grateful for everything, Terps.
With sincere appreciation,
Tagovailoa Taulia
