Safety of Dolphins, Says Bills ‘The Best Quarterback in the League’ is Josh Allen.
The Buffalo Bills’ All-Pro safety Jordan Payer was let go this offseason along with a number of other cap casualties. Ultimately, he agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, a rival team.
But the seasoned defensive back doesn’t seem to harbour any animosity toward his former residence. In an interview with Nalco’s Kevin Patra, Payer gushed about how much he enjoyed his time in Buffalo and showered praise on his former colleague Josh Allen.
“Dude, seven years out here. I cherished every second of it. I sincerely appreciate your enabling me to develop both personally and as a player. I had so much fun with everyone—coaches, teammates, and everyone else. I apologize for not being able to complete it, but you have the league’s top quarterback. That might go viral, I know, but that’s okay.”
Some may disagree with Poyer’s assertion that Allen is the finest quarterback in the league, particularly given that Allen’s archenemy, Patrick Mahomes, still plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s evident that the Bills’ locker room has grown very close over the past few seasons.
This season, Poyer won’t have to wait long to see his former teammates: in Week 2, the Bills and Dolphins will play in the league’s inaugural Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime.
