Ben Gulbranson of Oregon State accepts a starting position as quarterback
CORVALLIS, Oregon — Despite all of the challenges the Oregon State offense has experienced this season, the Beavers have managed to grow and adjust even in the wake of a difficult defeat the previous Saturday.
Ben Gulbranson, the quarterback for Oregon State, is one athlete who has adopted the “next man up” philosophy. And it’s evidence that he can guide the team into the off-season.
“With every snap you take you grow from those opportunities and I’m just grateful to be in this opportunity and playing these games and I look forward to finishing strong here,” Gulbranson stated.
“He’s not lighting up the scoreboard even in the first half.” He was, in my opinion, much more effective on third down in the second half. This boosts his confidence, and he has some people who can open up space for him and offer him opportunities. As long as he puts in the effort, I’m sure he will get better. Head coach Jonathan Smith stated, “He played really well tonight and was a big part of his win. He will need that the next two weeks.”
