An Open Letter to the Basketball Community at Providence Friars
Greetings, Friar Family
My heart is bursting with joy and gratitude for the trip we are on together as I sit down to write this letter. It has been an honor and a joy to play basketball for Providence, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support.
I want to express my gratitude to Coach Cooley and the entire coaching team for giving me the chance to develop both on and off the court. I am inspired daily by your direction, insight, and unwavering pursuit of perfection. I pledge to put in a lot of effort and do my best to preserve the traditions and core principles of this illustrious program.
You are my brothers, my teammates. Our relationship transcends the game of basketball, and I treasure every second we spend together, on or off the court. Your commitment, tenacity, and encouragement make me happy to be a member of this group. We are stronger as a team, and I am enthusiastic about what we may accomplish this season.
We are incredibly grateful to the fans and the Providence community for their constant support and passion. The Dunkin’ Donuts Center has an electrifying atmosphere, and your enthusiasm drives our performance. It is immensely inspiring to know that we have a community that supports us at all times, both in good times and bad. In an effort to make you proud, I swear to give it my all during every practice, every game, and every moment.
In closing, I would like to pay tribute to the legacy of the Providence jersey wearers who came before me. It is a privilege to be a part of this historic legacy, and I do not take it lightly. I’m dedicated to improving Providence basketball’s past and present while also having a positive influence off the field.
I am really grateful for this amazing chance and for allowing me to become a part of the Friar family. Let’s make this a season to cherish.
Go Friars!
Sincerely,
Devin Carter
