Four gifted transfer Preferred Walk-Ons (PWO) commits will add strength to the Fresno State Bulldogs’ roster. This calculated move attempts to add new talent and vitality to the roster while also improving the team’s depth. The Bulldogs will undoubtedly be significantly impacted by these new recruits as they continue to strive for on-field excellence.
First up, we have Jake Thompson, the team’s versatile playmaker and leader with a powerful arm as quarterback. Thompson, a transfer from a demanding junior college program, has proven to have excellent decision-making and accuracy abilities. His ability to quickly adjust and understand defenses will be a great benefit to the Bulldogs’ offensive scheme.
Cameron Wright, a strong defensive end renowned for his strength and agility, has joined the defensive line. Wright is from a reputable FCS college where his quickness off the edge and strong tackles routinely caused havoc for opposing attacks. It is anticipated that his presence will strengthen the Bulldogs’ pass rush and offer more assistance in stopping the run.
Wide receiver Ethan Hayes is expected to provide Fresno State with his explosive speed and dependable hands on the offensive side. After moving from a Division II university, Hayes has proven to be incredibly reliable and skilled at setting up plays. His ability to create space and make big receptions will give the Bulldogs’ receiving group a whole new look.
Last but not least, the Bulldogs are excited to welcome Marcus Lee, an offensive lineman with advanced experience, who is a strong and disciplined player. Lee joins the offensive line with invaluable experience and versatility as a transfer from a Group of Five program. Protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes will be made possible by his versatility and strong blocking skills.
The commitment and talent that Fresno State looks for in its athletes are embodied by these four PWO commits. “We are thrilled to welcome Jake, Cameron, Ethan, and Marcus to our Bulldogs family,” said head coach Kalen DeBoer in regards to the newcomers. Their skill, work ethic, and enthusiasm for the game are exactly what our staff looks for in a player. They will surely help us succeed and accomplish our objectives.”
