Recovering from wounds, especially gunshot wounds, has never been so easy.
Since Will Fuller V. last season, Tank Dell, a rookie wide receiver in his debut season, has had the most exciting run of games in Houston for a rookie pass catcher. Dell unfortunately sustained a broken leg against the Denver Broncos in week 13, ending his exciting season.
After 11 games, including 8 starts, Dell caught 47 passes for 709 yards, a stunning 15.1 yards per reception average, and 7 touchdowns. He gained an extra 51 yards on 11 runs, averaging 4.6 yards per carry.
While some people are never the same after suffering a broken fibula, Dell was well on his road to complete recovery when the second tragedy happened. Dell, a young receiver, was misfortune to be present when a mass shooter’s bullet struck him last month.
After about a month, Dell is lighting up the practice field at Texans headquarters.
Eager to continue on the success of the previous season, Dell is making the necessary efforts to help the Texans offense get better once again in 2024.
Not only was he one of the best rookie receivers in the NFL the previous season, but he was one of the best receivers in the entire league.
I’m not sure what special sauce Dell is eating, but if the Texans can get everyone on the team to recover as well as he does, they could have found the answer to injuries.
Additionally, with a healthy Dell in the lineup, quarterback C.J. Stroud will have many more weapons than any opposition defense could hope to neutralize.
Based on last season’s stats, assuming Dell can play in all 17 games in 2024, he will surpass the 1000-yard milestone in week 16. It should be simple for Stroud to pass for more than 5,000 yards this season given that Stefan Diggs, Nico Collins, and Dalton Schultz are all receiving passes.
