C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans is a talented quarterback who surprised everyone in his debut season; is he currently ranked in the top 10?
Pro Football Focus published its annual quarterback rankings before of the 2024 campaign on Wednesday. Stroud was ranked tenth.
“Cracking the top 10 after just one season may seem like a reach for Stroud, but man, his rookie year was impressive,” PFF’s Trevor Sikkema said in a “His yards, touchdowns and big-time throw numbers all placed in the top half of the league, and he had some clutch moments and drives that were well beyond his years.”

Stroud, who was selected with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, won Offensive Rookie of the Year after leading the Texans to their first postseason triumph since 2019. In addition to showing remarkable arm strength, Sikkema reports that the 22-year-old completed 32 passes of 20 yards or more in 15 games, which ranked third in the league.
Recent guest star of “The 4th and 1 Show,” quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and former NFL MVP, gave Stroud great marks.

“I don’t know nobody that really had a better rookie campaign than you,” 2011 OROY stated. Stroud was told by Newton. When you triumphed, you made it appear hot and you stood on business. It was less about your performance and more about you surpassing the odds. The market you joined was not set up for your success in the first place.”
Stroud has turned in highlight-reel plays in OTAs. The Texans on Tuesday released a video showing Stroud delivering a no-look pass to wide receiver Robert Woods.
