An humiliating Game 2 defeat causes an injury to a Pacers star.
With 3:44 remaining in the third quarter of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs versus Boston, Pacers player Tyrese Haliburton was substituted out and did not come back. While the organization stated that Haliburton was experiencing tightness in his left leg, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski clarifies that the 24-year-old was forced to miss time due to hamstring strain.
The fact that Haliburton strained his left hamstring in January and missed 10 games as a result is worrying for the Pacers. He made an attempt to return after just five games, but he missed five more after that one appearance.
Although there’s no reason to believe that his current hamstring problem is as serious as the last one, the Pacers, who trail Boston 2-0 in the series after their victory on Thursday, will be in serious trouble if the All-NBA guard is forced to miss any more games.
Haliburton had to cope with several health problems on Thursday after enduring lower-back spasms, a right ankle injury, and a sacrum contusion during the Eastern semifinals. The Pacers star had imaging on a hurting chest during the second game’s halftime, as Joe Vardon of The Athletic reports. In a fit of rage, Jared Weiss of The Athletic claims that during halftime, Haliburton was smashing the ball down the floor and shaking his head.
In the event that Haliburton is required to miss any more games, the Pacers will need to depend more on their guards, Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell as playmakers and ball handlers. In Indiana, Game 3 is set for this coming Saturday.
