2024 Boston College Football Schedule Released
On Labour Day Monday, your Fenway Bowl champions (provided they’re still in the association) take on the reigning ACC champions, Florida State, to start their new title defence trip. Following a lengthy run of home games (and copious amounts of cupcakes) to kick off previous seasons, they’ll be making the trip to Tallahassee for this one.
However, perhaps some of the resentment from being left out of the CFP controversy will have been let out by the Seminoles. This will be BC’s inaugural game of the season, but FSU will play Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Ireland, where they will start their own title defence*.
It’s go time.

Although they were so close to winning last season, Hafley has yet to defeat the Seminoles. BC has only won once in the previous 13 years and has lost five games in a row. The final victory down south occurred in 2008. Although FSU has definitely restocked, a lot of talent is going, and Hafley has been looking inside the portal to try to turn things around.
The Eagles play FCS Duquesne at home before going back on the road to play Missouri. Mizzou has had an incredible season that included a victory over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. Back in the wonderful state of Massachusetts in 2021, BC prevailed in the first leg of this series. Two more non-conference games are scheduled, one at home against Western Kentucky and one against Michigan State.
After that, conference play really gets going. The Eagles play Virginia in the other commonwealth before taking a week off before playing again. That’s not the finest timing, and it’s not a complete break either (though Tech is flying to Stanford in a similar position).
In addition to the primetime slot for the first week, which is Monday night, BC will also have separate slots for the following two games: Thursday night in Week 8 (October 17) against Virginia Tech and Friday night in Week 9 at home against Louisville.
Early in November, Fran Brown travels to Chestnut Hill for the first time on behalf of Syracuse. After a well-deserved bye week, BC will be back in action this time around before travelling to Texas to take on SMU, our new ACC rivals. This time, it’s intimate.
The Eagles play two home games against UNC and Pittsburgh over Thanksgiving weekend to round out the season.
Please share your way-too-early forecast below! Which game—either for enjoyment or, potentially more enjoyable, as a potential season-defining event—are you most anticipating? For me, Virginia Tech might be playing under the lights, and it will be amazing to see that Spartan green at home.
