Dye is a four-star recruit and the No. 150 player in the USA, according to 247sports’ composite rankings. Dye, an Elkhart, Indiana native, is ranked as the No. 14 edge rusher and the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
On3 Sports ranks Dye higher than any other recruiting service, placing the edge rusher at No. 40 and No. 5 in the country.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound edge rusher committed to Tennessee only one week after making an official visit to Knoxville. Dye’s official visit to Tennessee was the final of four in late May and early June, with the blue-chip recruit also visiting Purdue, Michigan, and Ohio State in the weeks leading up to his trip to Knoxville.
Dye’s formal visit to Tennessee was his third in the previous year, following an unofficial visit for the Georgia game in November and an unofficial visit in April.
Tennessee football is having a successful recruiting season, with six pledges in the previous two and a half weeks. Dye is the Vols’ third defensive line commit in the 2025 recruiting class, joining four-star Ethan Utley and three-stars Jayden Loftin and Charles House. Loftin and House committed to Tennessee earlier this month. Utley, a Nashville native and Ensworth School star, committed to Tennessee in March.
The Vols’ 2025 recruiting class now has 16 commitments and ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC, according to 247sports team rankings.
