After three years of play at Rice, Cameron Sheffield has decided to transfer to Duke.
The 6’6” guard hails from Alpharetta, Georgia, approximately forty minutes away from Sugar Hill, the hometown of Sion James. They have probably seen each other in the American and played baseball together at some point.
In 2022–2023 Sheffield averaged 7.6 points per game, 6.1 rebounds, and a 37 percent three-point shooting percentage. Due to a foot ailment, he missed the previous season. Despite the fact that he did start almost half of his games, he still has two seasons left. He will offer depth at first, but who knows what the future will bring. He could be able to advance in a pleasant role.
In addition to 6-8 Malik Brown (Syracuse), 6-6 Mason Gillis (Purdue), and 6-6 Sion James (Tulane), Sheffield is Duke’s fourth transfer.
He is, as far as we know, the third Cameron to play in Cameron (for Duke), after Canadian Cameron Hall and Cam Reddish, who both played for Duke before transferring.
Duke’s size never ceases to astound. The smaller players in his group are 6-5 Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster. Jim Boeheim, the 2-3 Zone Whisperer, is dying to call Jon Scheyer, you just know it.
