Marshall Football Coach Charles Huff praises the school’s new NIL partnership.
Athlete Advantage has signed a multi-year relationship with Marshall University to serve as the NIL Management partner for Marshall athletics.
“Fans and businesses will be able to contribute to Marshall student-athletes NIL through The Thunder Trust collective, enabling corporate partners and supporters’ greater access and unique experiences,” Marshall Athletics stated in a press release announcing the collaboration.
Athlete Advantage collaborates with several other colleges to provide NIL management services, such as licencing and merchandise, management software, donation solicitation, and more.
Ryan Miller, one of Athlete Advantage’s founders, played football at Marshall in the early 1990s.
Marshall’s head football coach, Charles Huff, expressed his support for the relationship on X.
“This is BIG TIME! We need the entire Herd Nation to support our student-athletes! The college athletics landscape is changing, and we are adapting to it!”
Marshall sports director Christian Spears also sent a message of support.
“The new collegiate athletic enterprise will necessitate new methods of accomplishing this, especially around NIL. Partnering with a group that has demonstrated their ability to do this at an elite level was vital for us to remain who we are and who we want to be – we are grateful to have Athlete Advantage on board with us,” Spears stated.
Huff is entering his fourth season as Marshall’s head coach. Huff’s first two seasons in Huntington were successful, but the Herd finished 6-7 last season, including a loss in the Frisco Bowl. Marshall’s 2024 season begins on August 31 versus Stony Brook.
