Dear Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Fans, and the Entire Community:
As I reflect on my journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for everyone’s constant support and love. My time at Western Kentucky University has been nothing short of amazing, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to be a member of such a wonderful community.
I felt a connection with the Hilltopper family from the moment I stepped onto the pitch as your quarterback. Your applause, support, and unwavering belief in me have driven my motivation and commitment to give my all on and off the pitch. Every game, practice, and moment spent in red and white has demonstrated the strength of community and the transformative effect of collective support.
Thank you to the coaching staff for believing in me and providing me with the guidance and mentorship I needed to polish my skills and progress as a player. Your commitment to my development as an athlete and as a person has had a significant impact on my career.
I am grateful to my teammates for the fraternity we have created. We’ve worked together to overcome obstacles, celebrate wins, and grow stronger. Our camaraderie extends beyond the field, and I am pleased to have competed with such talented and devoted individuals.
Your passion and commitment have served as a constant source of inspiration for the fans. Whether we were playing at home or abroad, your presence and excitement were consistent. You are the program’s lifeblood, and your support has been crucial in our quest of excellence.
Finally, I want to thank the entire Western Kentucky community for welcoming me and making this area seem like home. Your warmth, friendliness, and unfailing support created an environment in which I could develop and excel. I am eternally grateful for the chances and experiences I have had here, and I will carry your spirit with me as I continue my journey.
Thank you for everything.
With sincere gratitude,
TJ Finley
