Carl Jenkins Jr., a St. Augustine receiver, has committed to UCF for 2025.
UCF got another huge in-state prospect as St. Augustine receiver Carl Jenkins Jr. confirmed his commitment to the Knights.
Jenkins revealed on Saturday that he will join coach Gus Malzahn’s programme rather than USF, Louisville, or Mississippi State. His pledge gives the Knights 11 commitments for the 2025 recruiting class.
“I just want to thank all my family for supporting me throughout the journey,” Jenkins said during his Instagram livestream announcement. “The journey isn’t over, so we’re just going to keep going.”
Jenkins, a 6-foot-3, 177-pound athlete at St. Augustine High School, excels in both basketball and football. In basketball, he averaged 9 points and 4.3 rebounds in 22 games as a sophomore. In football, he led the team with 1,172 yards receiving on 60 catches and 15 touchdowns in 14 games during his two-year tenure.
Jenkins is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports’ composite rankings, which include ESPN and Rivals.com rankings. He is the 548th overall player in the country and the 86th overall receiver in the class.
He’s the third receiver to commit to the 2025 class, which is ranked 45th in the country by 247Sports’ composite rankings, following Santonyo Isaac (Tampa) and tight end Caden Piening (Cincinnati).
All verbal promises are non-binding, but they may become official during the early signing period in December.
